GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) — We have an update on the investigation into a threat at Eastside High School.
Alachua County Deputies say the threat was issued over Snapchat.
Two students were holding BB guns in photos sent to several people.
Though these pictures were sent back in March, school resource deputies say they were only recently made aware of them.
“The parent, as soon as they saw this information, was able to relay it to the school. The deputies in the school were able to take immediate action and within moments had those children in the administration offices there in the school and were able to run this to ground,” said Lt. Brett Rhodenizer with the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office.
The two students responsible have been charged with threats to conduct a mass shooting.
